We have always enjoyed our unique friendship. Both of us are photographers who love black and white, were both born and raised in Pittsburgh and were named after our fathers who also had the same name, Samuel. We both changed our names to “Kamau” in 1993 without the other knowing. It’s a tale of unimaginable but real parallels that play out in our two distinct photographic perspectives that we welcome you to experience. This is also our launch and debut as a photography collective. The logo for our artistic presence is a capital “K” looking west and a lower case “k” facing east. We don’t know how to pronounce it…perhaps it’s not meant to be spoken, just seen.
